WHY TRAINING?

 Dogs are workers. We breed and train dogs for hunting, search & rescue, herding, protection, law enforcement, bomb and drug detection, disability support, and movies.

Most dogs are happier and healthier when they have structure and a job. 

Training directs their energy and teaches them how to be welcomed, family members, and confident community citizens.

 Your pup is constantly learning, even if you are not training. What behaviors are being encouraged when you aren't looking? What behaviors are you promoting, even if unintentional?  What can you do differently to get the behavior you want? 

Training helps you use your voice, eye contact, and body language effectively with your pet to get the behaviors you want in your dog. The result is improved communication and a closer relationship with your pup. 

Teaching your dog another option when they are doing something they shouldn't be doing is like saying:  "I don't want you to jump on my friends or me, but you can sit on the floor for attention," or "I won't let you pull me down the sidewalk, but I will teach you how to walk by calmly at my side."

WHY PRIVATE TRAINING?

 Private training is the most effective approach to acquire new skills as you and your dog learn where your life is lived.

 During our sessions, you and your dog receive my focused attention, keeping distractions to a minimum, and each session is customized to work with your dog's unique personality and abilities and your goals.
